No kidding I remember back in 1982 fixing my rust belt GTO with fiberglass repair kits from the parts store, as there were no patch panels of any kind available. When I discovered even better fiberglass products at a boating store I was stoked as they worked so much better. Some of those repairs are still on the car today! Proper prep work is the key. It is your truck so repair it as you see fit.
