If it started doing this after you recharged it, it may be overcharged. Barring obstructions or defective compressor cycle switch, the best way to find out if it's over or under charged is with set of a/c manifold gauges. I would do that first even if I had to have a shop test it before tearing into the system. You can run into unnecessary expense if compressor is damaged.
