Thanks guys, my plan is to get it on the road, then if I am still not happy (well which one are you then?) I will take it to a local shop that does a lot of VA installs and services rods. One issue was that I did not kick up the rpm when installing, I am going to put the hoses back on and recheck after some higher RPM time.
Ogre - I used a simple manual valve from a ford or dodge if I remember correctly in my heater supply hose. Turned it off and on twice a year. They are set up for a cable operation similar to a manual choke so you could install a push-pull cable up under the dash somewhere to avoid lifting the hood!
