Yeah, stock LS1 clutches are meh. Bone stock with 30K miles mine was slipping if driven hard. Like hitting second aggressivly. Annoying. They will live like that for a long time. Remember that GM had to safeguard the little 7.5 rear in those f-bodies. Aggressive clutch was out of the question. Master cylinders were purposely choked down to make high RPM violent shifting difficult/impossible. Fourth gens were/are good, but that 7.5 really killed what could have been a fantastic car for several reasons.

Good info there. That's what read after I smoked out the cab... but it's on the road for the summer. This winter I'll make some small changes.
