Depending on how much customizing you wanted to do, and how much you wanted to spend, you could do a "heavy half" type of setup -- a 1/2 ton truck with 3/4 ton suspension.
Also, I'm not sure about in the 67-72 series, but in '75, when the original owner ordered a 454 for my 1/2 ton, they automatically upgraded to "heavy duty" suspension, making effectively a heavy half I think.
