It was a 307 2 bbl truck and a past owner changed the intake and carb so it could run a 4bbl. I previously thought all 72 Cheyenne Supers were 350/4bbl trucks. Seemed like an interesting combination.
Other than that and the paint, everything seems correct and original. The VIN and original build sheet for the truck all seem correct.

You could have any engine that was available for that year. Even the 6 cyl in a Cheyenne.
