Thanks for the help, everyone. Good to hear the Powermaster is working well. I needed to beef up the starting system in my Harley when I put the custom-built S&S motor in.
Good to know the options on starters. I know heat wrap works but I don't like to deal with it. The extra space given by the small bodied starters does seem to be the difference. Like I said, I never had this problem on any oter truck and not this one till lately, and that's with stock starter. It could be crappy rebuilds. It's always long enough that I can't find my receipt
