I took 11 1/2" out of my two piece driveshaft. It was easier than building a one piece and alot cheaper since I did it myself. If you retain the 3 spd then you are as well off waiting til you get the truck shortened and measure. That will insure you wont have to build one on a guess. If you go with a mainstream auto transmission, then you may get lucky and find one in an old junkyard.
