the steering shaft is the same on the 79 & 85 , but remember that in 84 they went to stalk mounted controls for the wipers & hi beams. you will have to have a fair understanding of wiring to do this . I did it once a while back and left the controls on the dash for wipers and used the stalk mounted hi-beam switch. I had wiring diagrams avaailable back then but it can't be too tough to figure out from scratch. DAVE
