Grumpy, those plastic spirals go inside the lateral pivot bar inside the cab. Both the brake and clutch pedals swing on it. Re-installing them cures that ''swingset squeek'' you get on a 40+ y.o. truck. I can't figure out how to get at it however.
I can't remember everything , I've got a swingset squeak myself and WAAAYYY past 40 yo .... But I remembered the bronze bushing trick .
