Re: Engine hold down
It looks like the same type of cable as in your previous picture. On his truck, the hold down had two cables. According to Chuck (Chuck's truck haven), the earlier trucks had a solid accelerator linkage. If the motor mount broke (I guess due to torque) it could cause the accelerator rod to stick in the full open throttle position, creating a hazard. GM's solution was to install these cable hold downs to keep that from happening. I guess that two cables were better than one?
