Re: Wilwood Master Cylinder Recall

I am disappointed I didn't share this with everyone sooner, I just didn't think about it. A couple years ago mine actually failed. No warning, no nothing, pedal just went to the floor, NO brakes at all. Fortunately I was in a scenario where there was no harm done, it could have been very bad.

I sent my master off to Wilwood because I couldn't find ANYTHING wrong with my system or parts. They told me one of the seals had a little tear. I had them send the old parts back to me along with my rebuilt master, I couldn't tell anything from looking at the old seals. I think they charged me $100 or something for the rebuild.

Then, last year, I got the recall info. I checked with them, they said it was likely I got defective seals in the rebuild as well because they hadn't discovered the problem at that point. So I had to pull it off again, and sent it to them for rebuild. This time there was no charge AND the refunded my money for the last go around.

So anyway, I just wanted to get it out there that this is REAL, YES there have been failures. GET YOUR STUFF SENT BACK AND FIXED!
