Check this thread out. I opted for the echlin TS6655. I haven't finished my swap yet so I'm unsure how accurate it will be but should be close. There is an example of a closer to stock temp in there. Take note though that I did have to drill out the auto meter adapter a little bit on the smooth portion to fit the sensor side of the sender.
