Your OE rear leaf springs are 2” wide. I picked up some 2” wide trailer spring perches at Tractor Supply. Haven’t gotten around to using them, but they seem like they’ll work just fine.
Early IH Scouts and Jeeps used 2” springs also, so somewhere like Barnes4wd or another off road supply house could hook you up also.
The plate you have welded could’ve just been a way to compensate for some saggy springs. I know on some trucks it wasn’t uncommon to put a shim under the drivers side pad.
