I struggled with this and ultimately tried it twice before I got it. I used tape to hold the trim but instead of going all the way over the seal to the other side of the windshield I pulled it tight on the front of the glass and stopped at the windshield channel. That way it left the inner seal free so I could manipulate it without disturbing the outer trim. Then I used a lot of lube (I used a Wurth product called rubber care) and a "dent pulling" suction cup on the inside of the glass so I could keep pressure on while working with the seal. There are different camps that will tell you to start at the top or bottom, I put the bottom of the glass in first and worked up. Keep at it and it will go in but not without frustration.
