We went with the '69 Camaro tank and matching sending unit. The fuel gauge works perfectly using the original brown sending wire in the truck.

We used 2" x 1.5" steel tubing cut to fit as shown in the photos and bolted to factory cross braces. After mocking up the tank with the tubing in place, we drilled holes for the factory '69 Camaro tank straps and bolted them up.

Then we opened up the tag bracket to get access to the tank and finished it off with a fold down license plate bracket from a '79 Monte Carlo.

As said, it doesn't spill out under acceleration but you just have to be careful about over filling it when getting gas.
