Yes, you need a regulator with their carb. Or the Edelbrock fuel pump with no regulator. I haven't looked in awhile, but I believe Edelbrock recommends 5.5 psi. Also, they recommend a carb spacer to cure hard starting from fuel percolation. Double check your float height too. May be a good time to clean it out and rebuild it if needed
