The point of the steering stabilizer, or damper, is to limit side to side movement and absorb bump steer. I put a Moog stabilizer on my 2wd 72 with 255's on the front and I honestly haven't noticed a whole lot of a difference....but I need an alignment. Like weq92f, I did notice a diminished return to center of the wheel once installed. It still returns, just not as easily. I don't think it's a bad idea to add one, modern cars still use em. Just don't expect it to be a game changer in your driving feel.
