You may want to find a vent assembly from a donor truck if possible. The studs for the handle are pinned into the glass frame.

The glass can be removed from the glass frame, and weld that stud from the back side, grind down, and reinstall the glass? I had to remove the vent from the truck and disassemble the vent to perform this.
