Longhorn, For a quick and inexpensive fix try a flip kit for your leafs and remove a couple of the heavy springs out of the pack. You are not going to be hauling any heavy loads anyway with this setup. This will net you a 5+ inch drop in the rear. DJM supplies new poly bump stops in the the drop kit. The kit is only about $60 and includes new shock mount brackets too. I did this on my son's '77 with 2.5 inch spindles plus 2.0 inch springs (up front) and it was perfect. The rear was never a problem but your front cross member may pick up some gravel if you stray off the pavement...LOL!
