You need to use a varity of thing to keep mice out , Moth balls and fresh coffee in a open container ,this combo works very well to keep them out ,

Rodent poison the block type works well to if you need to kill them ,but you should use only if no children or pets or present .the trick to using poisen is set up a 5 gal pail of water half full because after they eat the poisen they seek water to drink and wont be able to escape and will drown in the pail ,this way you want have dead mice that will decay and stink up your truck because you did not know they died from the poisen. My uncle had a exterminating company and taught me this ,been using these methods for years.
