Guys, I have to say, we are all different, but I have found having these memories out to see is so healthy. Don't leave them in a box in the attic, put them out to see. Years ago I actually loathed the idea of this, even family photos on the walls, NOPE, that is for "art" not crap I see every day, that's what I thought. Then sometime a few decades ago that changed and my home is covered with childhood photos, my parents (now long gone) and memories.
I have made pieces out of stuff I had stored for years like this picture frame full of photos of my grand parents house. You see, the "frame" is the door off a built in hutch in their living room of that house (that is now long gone.) I had it out in the back yard for years, then in the shed, it got pretty rotted and messed up so it took a bit of time to fix a few years ago, but there it is up on the living room wall full of memories now. Where it was sitting out taking up storage, with a few days work it's up and I enjoy it.
One cool thing about these projects is you actually finish them! LOL Unlike these HUGE truck projects, these little ones can get done in a few days and fire you up to get these done on the truck.
It's sad, my wife didn't have a good childhood, lots of funky stuff. She doesn't have anything she wants me to make for her like this.

If you can pull a good memory out of something, do so.
By the way, the photo of my dad in the Army on the table under this frame, that photo sat on the hutch under this frame/door in my grand parents house my whole childhood. So I thought it only fitting to put it under it in my house.
