Other than using different mounting hardware, this is all GM did for their factory option belts...with an absolutely necessary lap belt as well. I've gone all the way and built a few trucks with the factory shoulder belts. Was a fool for finding/buying those for years...had to have them! But after using these trucks I decided factory shoulder belts are great for a show ready restoration, but in the trucks I drive I'll take the modern aftermarket (or factory) 3 pts. Same as radial tires, good tunes, battery... there are better alternatives when vehicle is actually used to drive. I'd like to make that chrome 3-way male piece of buckle and have some proper 3 pts made up using stock width & original buckle. If a seat belt company would make a set like that in original colors they wouldn't be able to make them fast enough.
