Trade the 327 for a rebuildable 350. Do a basic rebuild with good pistons and a decent cam. put on some vortec heads and intake, you will be at about 300 horses. They say that vortecs add 50 hp over stock (stock is about 260)so with a good cam you should be easily at 300hp.
