As I prepare to fix ANOTHER rusted battery tray and inner fender well, I highly recommend getting away from lead acid batteries and going AGM. You can also mount an AGM battery at any angle.
Have you looked at going to a lightweight battery instead of relocating it? I think some of the Odyssey batteries weigh around 10#?
I am an Optima fanboy, but they don’t do anything to help you with weight.
