if you can't find a shifter that fits you could always lop off the original one, thread the shaft, bend the leftovers so they fit, then thread that and put it all together with a long nut, like the threaded rod connector nut but more handsome looking. unless it is under the shift boot and then it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it works.
