thanks for the help fellas. i have one more question. how much longer should my new U bolts be. should i just take out the old ones, measure them, and then add two inches? I was thinking of taking 2" x2" steel tubing and then cutting two holes in it and reinforcing them with round tubing and then capping off the ends. Do you think that would be strong enough.
