I removed everything I could from my 1947 3600 cab/dash. One thing that surprised me was how the lower chrome dash trim (the one under the radio that DOES NOT say "Chevrolet" on it) was held in place. Mainly, I was surprised that it was held in so tight! Instead of nuts, all it had was a couple of small pieces of wire wrapped around the broken off studs.
Question is....can those studs be replaced/repaired, or do I need a new chrome piece? It LOOKS like the backing strip can be slid out, but if it a waste of time, I'd like to know first!
