49 and 49 door post tags are held on with screws rather than rivets. It's funny but when I moved back to Washington from Texas in the mid 70's the state patrol inspector didn't bat an eye at the screws holding the plate. Yep the number matches the title, done.
For Idaho it looks like the vin inspection is rather simple,

Just remember when you leave California you leave California concepts behind as they don't appreciate that in Idaho.
