Fusible link size depicted in wiring diagram I posted above and it shows 16ga, which would stand to reason because the standard for AWG wire sizes (wire gauges), is each fusible link used should be 4 wire gauge sizes smaller than the wire it is designed to protect. For example: to protect a 12 gauge wire, use a 16 gauge link. If you'll look at the wiring diagram you'll see the red wire coming into to junction block from Alt. is 12ga, and thus GM used a 16ga wire as fusible link size to protect the charging circuit between alternator and battery.
