As other's have stated: Don't add work to an already difficult chore.. Leave the engine alone.. Unless you plan a clutch replacement, leave the bell housing attached to the engine also.. I won't go into all the details as proper removal has been covered by others.

That transmission is HEAVY, use a suitable transmission jack. And one of these should work to remove those 2 bolts..
