geez... those two links from summit are supposed to be 2.5" wide springs...
I submitted a product question asking what the width of the spring perch area would be...
but I think perhaps I understand what you're saying based on the pic provided in this post here by MFC66:

basically our stock mount, because of it's cast metal and center pin design, cannot be modified to accept a bolt on spring?
