Cool. Back when I was on active duty, I did the same thing --but not as fancy-- by lashing a rifle scabbard with bunji-cords to the back springs on my seatback in my '68 C/10 Stepside. Also had a Marlin 336 .30-30.
Out-of-sight is out of mind.
