Waiheke is a cool little island! I haven't spent too much time on there with just a couple of work functions, but I love the scenery and how easy it is to get around. You picked a good spot to check out!
Let us know if you do ever come down to NZ. It's a 'big' country and can take some time to get around and check out everything, meaning you can travel most days and finish feeling more tired than when you arrived. I'd be happy to share some of the top spots to check out which will give you the full NZ experience whilst providing some time to relax and unwind .
