thanks for the quick reply...that did the trick...well at least it got the knob out...i guess i thought from there it would be easy to remove the console but it wasn't so i didn't.

basically all i was hoping to do was grease the speedo cable (it bounces and I think it might be because it's dry) and try to figure out why my odometer isn't working. If any of you have tips on removing the speedometer i'm all hears...
