WOW! this is good info, to bad for me it's too late!! I took a pair of vise grips and mauled the lightswitch handle off it's post to be able to remove the dash cluster! Believe you me, I TRIED to figure out how the knob came off, without destroying it. I sometimes have a VERY short fuse, which for some unknown (yeah right) reason, things tend to break when I've reached the limits! All in all, I intend to replace it. Now I know how to get it off though! Also, I never disconnected my battery when removing the cluster, guess I was lucky not to fry anything! Next time I will disconnect it though. Thanks for the info guys!!
