I recently installed a set of DynoMax Chevelle shorty headers P/N 86118. As you can see from the picture posted by 1972c10_ohio, the #1 tube comes very close to the motor mount bracket, as does the #2 tube. In fact, I had to grind 1/8" off the passenger side bracket to see some daylight. Another drawback is they have only 1.5" primary tubes, which isn't great for revs, but light years better than the small ram's horns. Finally, a couple of the machined gaskets surfaces on mine were a little narrow, meaning you have to select your gaskets carefully. I ended up using stock metal-faced Fel-Pro manifold gaskets.

The Sanderson CC3 headers posted by slammed67 are higher quality but cost $375 in the ceramic coated version. My Dynomaxs cost $215 from Summit Racing. Either way, shorties are the way to go because you don't have those unsightly Hedman or Hooker collectors hanging down near the ground on a lowered truck. I'm sure full length headers are the best performing, but I'm not a racer looking for that extra half a tenth.
