I did the same as you. Ordered the same compressor, but I wanted the standard finish because I thought it fit better with the look of my engine bay. My alternator and accessory bracket are not polished and I thought if I had a polished compressor, it would be too much. I kind of wished a bought it with a rear exit head though and not the type that you and I have. I had mine oriented like yours and I just flipped it up. I know for proper operation, they don't like to have them turned to where the ports are facing down. I think it's OK sideways, but I got a little nervous and just flipped it up. I bought the Vintage Air, 35137-VUG-A (non-polished) line kit. Looks like that's the way I'll go. I'm also using VA's EZ clip system and planning to route my lines out of the fresh air vent. Struggling with that now.
