Help your buyer out.....Use the Declaration of Value available on the internet site.

Without it they try to use a price guide for the tax value, which is generally higher.

I have the file available if you would like me to email it to you. Simply print it out and send it along with the buyer.

An example last summer I sold a gentleman a Harley at $5800.00 (without the paper), an hour later he was back with the form to have me sign. They said the computer showed the unit worth $8900.00 and wanted sales tax on the higher amount.

Usually its a good idea that the buyer and seller have a copy of the transaction. And you want to report it to the DMV as a sale with the same info. Which can be done over the internet now.
