i hear ya...
i bought my wifes '90 k1500 stepper in '95...she drove it 'til '04 and i been driving it since.
it's got minor issues but runs like a top. i'm guessing around 300k, not really sure, odo stopped working 12 yrs ago. paint is peeling and going south, some cab corner rust, really needs to be re-midas-ized and gel coat on the box is acting funny.
she keeps asking me when i'll sell it and get another daily...thinking instead of buying another daily, use that money to fix the stepper and keep on driving it.
i already got a toy that is my baby, but i love that the stepper is a 5 spd.
may be ifs, but it's got a crawl ratio of 57:1, and the 350 in it is much better on fuel than the bb in my crew. it's short and compact, easy to wheel thru the bush, big enough to carry the dogs or whatever other junk i throw in the back...
and it has been everywhere, including our honeymoon.
did i mention it has a 5 spd with an awesome crawl ratio...
