So you reamed the factory 5000lb axle bigger and the knuckles and everything swapped over no issues?

Yes, I was using an 89 C60 as a donor for my 68 body. The 89 axle was 6" wider than the 68. It turned out the steering knuckles from the 89 "fit" the 68 axle after overboring the kingpin holes in the 89 axle by .0070. Check out post #14 in my build thread:

By the way, thanks for the info in your tread about the Bosch brakes. My build is stalled right now due to a problem with the auxiliary backup pump for my hydroboost and a complete lack of available replacement. I'll likely swap over to the Bosch style booster.
