Depends on the year of the truck. IIRC - the early squares came with plain incandescent headlights. Halogen bulbs made for a nice upgrade over those. Even if your bulbs still work, a new set might be brighter.

Some of the LED drop in bulbs have poor enough focus patterns they do more to blind oncoming drivers then help the owner.
