There is no "Best air bag set up". Simply because your definition of a good ride and mine are different. We have different budgets, We use our trucks differently, and we have different skill sets when it comes to installation. There are good products, not so good products, and bad products out there. Some will things work in one application and not in another. The key for you to have a system that satisfies your needs and puts a smile on your face is doing in depth research. Like going to a truck event and talking to folks who have lived with them for a while to find out what they would have done different.
Unfortunately the air bag industry has had its share of shoddy vendors over the years and they are still coming and going. So it pays to know who makes good products.
My Burban is on bags and it was a cheap set up when I got it and many things had to be upgraded. Even doing lots of things myself it was still well over $1500 to make it into a viable system. And I still need to shorten the front bad seats to help dial the ride height and ride quality in better. Not to mention the yearly leak I have to conquer. Air bags are not in my opinion a one and done item.
Cornerstone is correct about lurking in the suspension forum. Start searching for build threads with bagged trucks. There is a lot to be learned there.
If you are interested here is a link to my Burban repair thread. Just scroll down to post 136 and the air bag story starts and continues on for many pages.
