Half Way Home - 383 Project

Ha. I know taking it out is the easy part.

Sunday after I got the old engine out I used the power washer to blow away the crud. I suppose tomorrow I'll crawl under there with a spray bomb and start painting the frame while everything is out of the way.

The plan is to use the fresher heads off the engine I'm pulling and install them on the 350 that is at the machine shop getting turned into a 383.

If you guys remember I wiped out three cam shafts in 15,000 or so miles. The machine shop guy wants me to drop the heads off from the engine I just pulled so he can check the springs so they match the cam he is going to help me pick out.

I'm DEFINATELY putting on a two-piece timing chain cover so the next cam will be an easy swap.

Fool me once shame on...
