National Parts Depot sells a thin rubber gasket to replace the cracked old rubber gaskets in this type gas cap.
Good news, they're only a dollar.
Bad news, they warp after a couple of months exposed to ethanol fumes.

While they're still good, you'll get a whoosh of vapor popping out when you open the cap. No more wet wingtips.
