Yes. On my V8 truck, a '71 GMC Jimmy 4x4, w/350 SBC, the ball-stud engine-side pivot threads directly into the side of the block.
On my L6 truck --'68 C/10 Stepside, w/292, there's a ''U'' bracket that extends 4'' and then the ball stud pivot extends from there.
