Seem like you answered your question. The drain cleaner is probably lye based and removes anodizing. You could make abrasive wheels with a bolt, nut, fender washers and folded scotchbite pads and hit it with that on a spinny thing.
Then start to polish with buffing wheels and solid buffing compound in finer grades as you go. Sort of like polishing anything aluminum. Of course, it's tedious, a pain in the butt and will need to be redone in the future since the anodizing is gone.
