My blazer had 3" blocks under 5 leafs in the back and an extra leaf full length in the front which gave it a lift of about 3-4" overall. It was running 33" tires on 10" wagon wheels with 373 gears. Decent ride, handeling ok, height a little tall for my personal taste as you would feel it on turns. So, rear blocks out, 33" tires coming off 10" and going onto stock ralley 8" wheels, and asap--the front extra leaf will be coming out. Just finishing up on swapping out the 373 for 308posi in the back and the front will get swapped asap as well. Anticipate better handling being 3" lower, anticipate a little better mpg on highway with lower rpms, and expect no more mud thrown onto the body from the tires extending beyond the bodyline.
Lifts, tire size, gear ratio, suspension,---this is all a personal choice for looks, ride, economy. Some say I will be lugging with the 33"s and 308 gears---perhaps but my 350 was really built and pushing 300+hp so I'll compromise some lugging for some MPG.
Will see the results in the next few days-----Huck
