I just locked the hubs 2 weeks ago. They will probably stay locked until March. Then I’ll just shift the tcase from 2wd to 4wd as needed. Shifts in and out easy on the fly as long as the driveline is loaded. In other words I just let off the gas pedal, and pop the shifter. Don’t wait till you’re stuck to engage 4wd, engage it before things turn to crap! I’ve had lots of 4wd drive rigs over the years. Up here my 4runner stays in 4hi all winter, highway or city. Roads just dont get so dry that I worry about it. I’ve never had a driveline component wear prematurely.
