One thing to think about and I don't know if it has been addressed , is the fact that our trucks suffer from a few "defects " that make them poor crash worthy trucks .. Besides not having a padded dash , or a steeringwheel that will absorb impact , I think my second improvement after seat belts would be an energy absorbing column and a collapsable steering shaft ..seems to me I have seen too many pictures of the steering shaft becoming 2 feet longer and hitting the driver right in the face in a serious crash ..Just my .02$ worth ...
